Maggie competed in her first rally obedience trial (!!!!!!) and...well, we got a non-qualifying score because there were too many scents in the grass for her retriever nose to stand, and as a result she was snuffling along in the dirt, and not really paying a hell of a lot of attention to me. BUT she did manage to complete all 13 exercises. And we know what to work on for next time. YA HA! My trash can girl is finally like a reg'la show dog! And people said it couldn't be done. Have Daisy write us a triumphant march--and I'll keep you posted on future exploits in the ring.
Wow - that's an excellent accomplishment. I can understand the pull of scented grass, too. I'll speak to Daisy's aunt about the march.
We did another trial. SHE was perfect. I made the disqualifying error. She needs a better handler! :-( Hope Daisy, and you, are enjoying the summer. MBB
